Overview
Ansys 2023 R1 Materials Summary
Ansys 2023 R1 Materials brings an enhanced UX with efficiency driving features like the new CAD Connector and Material Calibration app to make Granta MI™ the authoritative source of truth for materials.
Updates to data and tools in Granta Selector facilitates fast, accurate early-stage design for Proactive Sustainability: now on Ansys Gateway powered by AWS. Material data is a critical factor in simulation accuracy – Granta offers the latest metals, polymers, PCB and electromagnetic absorbing materials that support accurate physics simulation across automotive, 5G and high-tech.
Theme 1: Enhanced UX for an Authoritative Source of Materials
Companies like Ferrari and Baker Hughes have used Ansys Granta MI™ to make digitalizing materials part of their digital transformation journey. Ansys 2023 R1 brings an enhanced Granta UX, for administrator and user alike, that offers a more configurable, adaptable, and localized authoritative source of truth for materials. Features like the new CAD Connector will save simulation analyst time and guarantee traceability between CAD (Siemens NX) material records and simulation models in Ansys Workbench via the Granta MI Gateway.
Theme 2: Proactive Sustainability: now on the Cloud!
By the time you’re measuring a product’s environmental impact using an LCA (life cycle assessment), at that stage of product development you are already committed to 80% of the total product cost – change is too late. Proactive Sustainability with Ansys Granta Selector’s latest eco data and Eco Audit tool helps shift the necessary trade-offs earlier in design. By partnering with Ansys Discovery, engineers can explore and iterate rapidly between design scenarios and material options. Granta Selector’s availability in Ansys Gateway powered by AWS makes early-stage material sustainability accessible in the cloud.
Theme 3: Help Simulation Accuracy With Materials
Material Calibration is a key pre-simulation step – introduced as an application in Granta MI 2022 R2. It now offers a new ‘initialize’ feature that helps easily generate accurate material coefficients for complex material models – now also available in Ansys Granta MI Pro. The right material data is also important for accurate simulation, that’s why in Ansys 2023 R1 the latest metals, polymers, PCB and electromagnetic absorbing data is available. This supports innovation across automotive and high-tech industry applications from 5G to 3D-IC.
