Econ sponsored the 29th PLC Programming Competition
The 3-day event at the Technical College in Subotica was mainly attended by students of electrical engineering and their teachers. As a silver sponsor, this year for the first time, Econ Engineering debuted as an Ansys simulation software distributor, and an engineering simulation and industrial automation expert. The 29th National Ajtonyi István Control Programming Competition is organized annually by the Didactic Society for Control Engineering in Higher Education (FIOM). This year, nearly 80 students from 25 teams from 12 universities participated in the event. In addition to the mostly Hungarian higher education institutions, the hosting Subotica Tech College of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Technology of the University of Novi Sad, and the Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania also participated. The event’s main patron was Dr. Igor Fürsztner, Director of the Subotica Tech College of Applied Sciences, while the chairman of the organizing committee was Dr. László Gogolák.
On the first day, the competitors had to solve theoretical problems in a 10-question test, for which they had 1 hour to complete. On the second and third days, the competitors had 5-5 hours to program the competition technology, an industrial robot with their own tools, and present their solutions to a professional jury. In addition to Econ Engineering, the competition was sponsored by several companies from different fields, such as Schaeffler, Balluff, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi Electric, Schneider Electric, Beckhoff, Gamma Digital, and Kontron.
The three-day competition’s winner was East Side team from the University of Miskolc. Congratulations to all competing students, their teachers, and the organizers!
