The certification could generate further projects in the aeronautics, aerospace, and defense sectors.
After a certification process of several months, Econ Engineering, with the assistance of SGS Hungária, obtained the AS/EN 9100 certificate. The evaluation process reviewed the various professional and business practices. The work activities of the participating engineering teams met the certification requirements to the highest possible degree. The certificate obtained is valid for the so-called “Design and simulation of structures and subsystems for the aerospace industry” activity.
Econ has been working for many years on a variety of aerospace projects. To start the certification process, it was a prerequisite that the engineering firm had a completed project delivered to the client. The assessment was primarily based on simulation activities for the glider powered by Altus Aero. Following preparations that started in the autumn of 2022, Econ has received several audits this year. Thanks in part to the assistance of almost half a dozen collaborators, Econ Engineering obtained the certificate this summer.
This system completes the ISO 9001 standard with specific criteria for the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries. By obtaining the AS/EN 9100 certificate, Econ Engineering became registered and listed in the worldwide database of certified aviation suppliers (OASIS – Online Aerospace Supplier Information System). Thanks to the growing professional recognition, Econ engineers are receiving an increasing amount of inquiries from various organizations active in the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries. This is evidenced by the fact that NASA supplier Axiom Space, interested in space industry development, is also among Econ’s satisfied customers.
