Econ presented its simulation and automation services for the battery industry at the World Power Battery Conference in Yibin, China. Hungary was the guest of honor at the event, which took place on more than 50,000 square meters with 336 international exhibitors.
This year’s 4-day exhibition and conference was held under the theme “New Green Power for the Future and a New Growth Driver for the World”. The event took place in Yibin, in the western Chinese province of Sichuan, which has become a major player in the Chinese battery industry in recent years.
On more than 50,000 square meters, the organizers set up 8 exhibition areas, hosted conferences and summits, a series of special seminars, thematic forums, and discussions, and held the “Global Entrepreneurs’ Night”. The international event, which is also supported by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and serves as an annual summit for companies related to the battery industry, was attended by some 336 companies. From battery raw materials to charging stations and power plants to the latest electric vehicles, the products on display showcased a comprehensive overview of the most advanced technologies related to the industry.
This year’s guest of honor was Hungary, which recently announced the construction of a domestic factory for Chinese battery giant CATL.
Econ at the World Power Battery Conference
Hungary’s industry players presented themselves on a separate stand at the event. Econ presented its engineering simulation and automation services for battery development. In the video below, you can see the opening of the exhibition and our CEO Gábor Kiglics, and Senior Business Development Manager Balázs Zsigmond (0:08) greeting the Chinese partners (0:26).
Our services portfolio held great interest at the conference.
Engineering simulations are essential for the cost-effective design and development of batteries. Multiphysics simulations help to shorten complex decision processes and design cycle times. The need for physical testing can be minimized for batteries designed for both electronic products and electric transport. Overall project costs can thus be significantly reduced.
Our automation business delivers innovative solutions to a wide range of industries, both nationally and internationally. We design, manufacture and supply tailor-made machines. We always find the optimum solution to meet our customers’ needs using our assembly technologies. During the trade event, we had promising discussions with several battery companies about possible future cooperation.
Cooperation agreement with our Chinese partner
During our stay in China, we also visited Kunming. Here, we first met with Bálint Czégel, Deputy Consul General of Hungary in Chongqing, and the management of the Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department. Subsequently, we had a meeting with the Yunnan Branch of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group. We presented our simulation activities related to machinery development and signed an agreement for further cooperation.
