Econ at the 2nd ICME Conference
Econ's engineering team contributed to the success of the 3-day 2nd International Conference on Mathematical Modelling in Mechanics and Engineering (ICME), held in Belgrade, with two technical presentations.
Engineering Simulation at the Metal3D Conference
Engineering simulation was also a key focus at the recent 2nd Metal3D Conference, organized by SinterAM Kft. and our partner Varinex Zrt. Bálint Kiss, Econ’s simulation software support engineer, presented the engineering simulation possibilities of additive manufacturing technologies.
Composite Failure Models – Econ Article in the Journal Heliyon
A new article by Econ et al. has been published in the journal Heliyon (IF=4,0), dealing with a fitting method for composite failure models based on parameter identification and iterative experimental design. The paper presents an iterative, nonlinear design of experiments (DoE) based method capable of identifying the most informative mechanical test failure results for certain failure models, such as the Tsai-Wu, Tsai-Hill, Hashin, maximum stress, and Puck theories.
Simulation Technology Day at the University of Niš
Around 80 students, teachers, and industry professionals gathered for the Simulation Technology Day at the University of Niš in Serbia, to learn more about the industrial applications of engineering simulation and virtual prototyping with the help of Econ Engineering.
Engineering Simulation at Aviation Industry Days at Börgöndi Airport
Econ Engineering delivered a presentation titled "The Importance of Engineering Simulation in the Aviation Industry" at the two-day Aviation Industry Days at the Börgöndi Airport organized by the Hungarian Aviation Cluster. In addition to engaging lectures from the Defense Innovation Research Institute (VIKI), the Ludovika University of Public Service (NKE), and other notable speakers, the over 600 attendees had the opportunity to witness drone soccer, Altus Aero’s glider, HungaroCopter’s helicopter, and BME Aerospace’s research rocket.
Econ Simulation Student Competition 2024 results announcement
Econ Simulation Student Competition - held annually for the past three years - received 11 qualifying projects implemented in Moldex3D and Ansys software. Students from Hungary, Croatia, and Serbia participated, and the first 3 winners received a total prize of 300.000 HUF (~770 EUR), along with the opportunity to briefly present their projects at the 22nd Econ Conference.
Promising Results in Preliminary Composite Failure Tests
The preliminary experiments for our previously announced composite failure test series investigating the failure behavior of polymer composites under multiaxial loading conditions have been accomplished. The composite test specimens exhibited the expected behavior in the first phase of the failure testing series.
