Heat Exchanger in virtual environment – WEBINARIUM

Temperature control of systems is an important part of our everyday life and industry. Refrigerators and air conditioners are the most commonly used, widely known heat exchanger systems, and with their usage we can make our daily life much more comfortable. In addition, temperature controller systems based on similar principles occur in many areas of the industry, from the cooling water of a car engine, through temperature control of chemical reactors, to cooling of nuclear reactors.

Heat exchangers can be grouped in many ways. Depending on their design, they can be shell-tube or plate heat exchangers. They can be parallel-, counter- or crossflow depending on the direction of the flowing media. There are heat exchangers in which only the temperature, and not state, of the flowing media changes. Another type of heat exchangers are condensers, in which the vapor phase condenses. Based on the above, it can be seen that heat exchanger designers have to choose the right type from a number of solutions. They have to take into consideration space minimisation and material requirements of the equipment, but the product has to withstand mechanical and thermal stresses during usage. This is a complex engineering task in which Ansys thermal, flow, and strength calculations provide effective assistance to the designer.During this webinar we will discuss the above mentioned calculations and options available for heat exchangers.
