In close cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade, we held our May Tech Day in the Serbian capital. The event focused again on engineering simulations, demonstrating its potential.
The aim of the event was to bring together professionals from innovative professional organizations, development, and manufacturing companies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of simulation design, its efficiency, its short-term payback, and last but not least, the technical solutions that can reduce the time, resources and potential errors in design.
The event was opened by Ph.D. Maja Todorović, Vice Dean of the University of Belgrade. During the workshop, participants were introduced to a range of simulation software, with a special focus on Ansys products. Speakers highlighted the importance and role of simulation in the early stages of product development, followed by a presentation on mechanical simulations by our software team leader, János Szegletes.
Engineering simulations in design
From the Department of Weapon Systems Assistant Professor Ph.D. Dejan Jevtić presented Ansys Fluid and Assistant Professor Ph.D. Miloš Marković demonstrated Ansys Autodyn applications in the development of various weapon systems.
Afterward, our software engineers Elizabeth Stadler and Ph.D. Dániel Marcsa showcased Ansys Fluid (for CFD simulations) and Ansys Electronics (for electronic simulations) software, giving several examples of their practical applications. Another presentation by Elizabeth Stadler focused on Ansys Discovery and its simulation capabilities, with a focus on the early development phase.
Jelena Svorcan, Associate Professor at the Department of Aeronautics, gave a presentation on engineering simulations in Ansys Fluent in the field of computational aerodynamics. Also from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Full Professor Ph.D. Aleksandar Grbović showed the audience a structural analysis (Numerical assessment of fatigue life of damaged metal structures) in Ansys Workbench.
Vedran Radinović-Lukić, a specialist from Grundfos Serbia, demonstrated the topic of simulation-driven development.
Through various practical examples, participants were able to see how projects using Ansys simulation software provide a more practical and accurate development environment.
