Ansys 2020 R2 has arrived: it supports collaborations between organizations and teams by delivering innovative solutions and upgrades. R2 includes embedded software, high-performance computing (HPC) resources, and platform solutions to help you meet the challenges of today’s business environment by designing and deploying new workflows.

Ansys R2 includes significant improvements in all areas in order to accelerate innovation

Ansys Cloud updates include support of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) – which improves Ansys simulation solutions with unlimited cloud-based HPC. This allows global teams to work together more effectively. With Ansys VDI technology, any computer can be turned into a high-performance workstation, making it possible to prepare simulations and evaluate results regardless of location.

In all new Ansys Discovery products, the user experience has been completely revamped; during thermal, structural, fluid, and multiphysical simulations, the highest level of design becomes available. Using Ansys Discovery solutions already at the earliest stage of product design can significantly increase productivity, drive innovation, and improve overall product performance. Ansys Discovery provides instant feedback and high-quality results about changes made during design so that all engineers can make more informed decisions at critical points in the design process.

Ansys Digital Twin solutions enable remote monitoring of predictive maintenance devices and operations. The Digital Twin is becoming increasingly important during this pandemic period, it reduces workplace risk by remote monitoring and automation. Ansys Twin Builder makes it easy to install and validate Digital Twin with the introduction of Ansys Twin Deployer.

Enhancements introduced in Ansys 2020 R2 also support state-of-the-art technologies such as autonomous vehicles, electrification and 5G.

In the field of autonomous vehicles, Ansys SCADE Vision improves the installation, scalability, and performance of AI-based detection software testing thank to multi-GPU parallelization. The VRXPERIENCE driving simulator, powered by SCANeR, supports simulations of self-driving cars – a so-called New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) offers a set of scenarios to test the functions of autonomous vehicles.

In the field of electronics, Ansys Fluent’s new battery capacity model predicts discharge time at high discharge rates. The new model allows you to predict the battery capacity reduction based on calendar and cycle life via a new aging model. The new thermal and vibration analysis, in parallel with Ansys electromagnetic simulation software, helps predict reliability, noise, vibration and harshness.

Ansys Fluent simplifies battery simulations

The rollout of current and upcoming 5G makes it necessary to design and simulate increasingly complex antennas and integrated circuits. In Ansys 2020 R2, larger, more complex antenna analyzes can be performed. In addition, we can take advantage of the electronics reliability and the benefits of electrothermal modeling with the introduction of RaptorH, which is an electromagnetic simulation and extraction tool. Enhanced elements of Ansys HFSS combine on-chip device modeling with 3D electromagnetic simulation software to control sensitive integrated circuits.
